this is a controversial area, routinely prescribed in japan while not routinely used in the us. If your B12 is low: chances are you need to replace it the rest of your life. Using 2 mg by mouth may over ride the problem with absorption. Check your level periodically and keep it above 550 ( European Standard)  This can be achieved in most cases with bi weekly B12  (1.2mg to 1.8 mg under the tongue liquid) This will run you 10-15 dollars a year.  I have about 350 patients on this form.

Won't affect them: The "b complex" vitamins are really unrelated other than in name. B12 is a water soluble vitamin and must be taken daily in food or supplement.  B12 deficiency results in anemia and nerve cell injury.  128 is low and you should certainly follow your doctor's advice for diet and supplement use. Also you need to determine if it is just nutritional or if you have a problem absorbing the vitamin.
