Snoring abnormal: While children can be heavy breathers at night, snoring is not normal. It can be caused by congestion or by large adenoids and tonsils. Sometimes kids can look like they're sleeping ok, but not be having restful sleep. Look for daytime fatigue. I recommend you take your daughter to the doctor for a check up to look for congestion or other causes for the snoring.

Non medical tx: There are alternatives to medical treatment of snoring.  You can try having your husband sleep on his side or stomach.  This may decrease his snoring.  Make sure he doesn't have any alcohol or take any sleep medicine prior to bed.  While these can help you fall asleep, it relaxes your airway too much and causes snoring.  Breathe-right strips help decrease nasal congestion and subsequently snoring.

See below: Snoring may be part of a larger disorder. It might help by maintaining an ideal body weight, avoiding caffeine, alcohol, ; nicotine. If you have allergic rhinitis or another cause of nasal congestion, treating it can help with snoring. Nasal strips ; sleeping 7.5 to 8 hours a night can be beneficial. If a deviated nasal septum is present, fixing it can help. See a sleep dr. To evaluate you.

Monitor the setting: A 3 yo who snores has tonsil &amp; adenoid growth that is prominent &amp; interfering some with the airway. If he has breathing pauses lasting more than 20 seconds during sleep, he is progressing toward childhood sleep apnea. This usually worsens for a few years since tonsils/adenoids grow faster than the kid until they hit 8 or so. If this occurs have him evaluated by an ENT. Tonsillectomy is curative.

would seek referral to ENT doctor as there are no good medical treatments for enlarged tonsils/adenoids

Check up: A medical check up would be a good place to start including checking some basic things like you hemeglobin, blood sugar, thyroid function, etc.  you might also try an exercise program to see if it helps as well (if approved by your doctor).  If work up negative, sleep study may be helpful.
