Sleep apnea: Snoring is often a sign of sleep apnea- which means that a person is stopping breathing for at least 10 seconds. That means that they are depriving their body of oxygen which is essential to life. This puts them at higher risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes, automobile accidents. In short, snoring can be very detrimental to one's overall health.
