Anything &gt;2 cm ...: You only worry if the node is 2 cm or larger, painless and growing in size(getting bigger over a month of two. Unless it is getting bigger, you do not need to be concerned. But do not chase and look for it daily....once weekly is good enough. if concerned go see a an ENT doctor/specialist.

Lymph nodes: The neck region is a common place for enlarged lymph nodes to be felt. These nodes generally enlarge as an immune reaction to an infection of the scalp, head or neck and for the most part are not dangerous to your health.  Lymph nodes that are persistently tender, red or enlarging warrant evaluation by your doctor.

Lymphadenitis: Neck is a common area for lymph nodes to be enlarged due to  infection (bacteria or virus). In your case it could be ear infection. The common treatment in this situation is an antibiotics. They are not useful to treat viral infection.

Up to 20 grams: Since the thyroid is a 3 dimensional structure, it is the volume of the thyroid that relates to size.  It is actually best assessed by palpation rather than dimensions on an ultrasound.  A normal size is up to 20 grams (estimate since no one is removing your thyroid to weigh it).  Dimensions on an ultrasound can be deceiving, depending on where the tech measures.

Needs exam: Have you had the HPV vaccine series? HPV lesions  can be painless bumps, not usually red in appearance and not often smoothbut it is possible . They can spontaneously come and go and there are many forms based on the strain of virus. While your described lesion may be benign, it still warrants an exam to consider excision . You can still start and complete the HPV series if you have not done so .

Normal: It is normal to be able to feel small lymph nodes in the groin or other areas of the body.  No need to worry about them.  It would be exceedingly rare for them to be related to your history of thyroid cancer.
