UFE does not remove: A myomectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the fibroids. Ufe (uterine fibroid embolization) does not remove them, it shrinks them. Hysterectomy permanently cures the fibroids and all of their symptoms. The decision as to the best treatment for your fibroids depends upon their size and number, your symptoms and your plans for future childbearing.

Symptoms?: My first question would be to ask you are you having symptoms. Fibroids don't have to be treated if they're small and not causing any problems. If there exceptionally large or causing pain or heavy periods and surgical options at this point are your best bet. A surgeon experienced in minimally invasive techniques can do this easily.

Schedule follow up: You may want to schedule a follow up with your surgeon to determine that everything is ok. You may just be experiencing cramping from the blood supply to the fibroid being cut off which is the goal of the surgery.

No...: Radiation exposure related cancer is at least 10-20 years down the line and is minimal in risk. Just try to avoid unnecessary extra radiation (i.e. Ask your doctors about why you need a ct/xray when it's ordered). If it is medically necessary, my advise is to get the test and don't worry about the extra radiation exposure.

i have fibroids cycle been on 15+ and i take provera (medroxyprogesterone) dr say there is nothing more he can do. waiting on appt. for ufe what to do while i wait?

Please see another: Doc or for a second opinion and treatment or go to the er cause the er will call the gyn on call for the er to take care of u if u , your doctor have worked u in today for evaluation and different treatment there are better meds to help stop the bleeding and u may will need a myomectomy or hysterectomy.

i just had a ufe about 5weeks and after my period ended i have a vaginal disharge with foul smell what could it be?

Necrosis vs infectio: it could be necrotic tisuue from fibroid or a uterine infection. See your GYN as soon as posssible. If you also have fever, go to ER

Austin is close: We do same day myomectomy here in austn just 100 miles away from waco with an overnight stay in the hospital in the event of delayed bleeding. I don't know anyone in waco at this time that offers what you are looking for.

i got ufe done in 2012 because of heavy bleeding/ fibroids. my periods eventually stopped. is it possible to have periods after a gap of 2+ years.

Yes: The original fibroids could grow again or new fibroids could develop and this would tend to give you periods again. You should still be checked to make sure there is nothing else going on.
