Virus: You more than likely have a viral respiratory illness and the antibiotic will not change its course, only add symptoms from its side effects. Symptom management, hydration and rest should help you recover more quickly. Recheck with your dr if not improving in next couple days.

Wait it out: and if the blood persists after  4-5 days, consult you primary doctor. A chest xray   and  blood tests  will probably be ordered. You did mention any nosebleeds or gum bleeds  or tobacco use  so I presume they're not a problem.  But   coughing blood-tinged sputum during acute bronchtis is relatively common.

my 2 year old has blister like pimples on his knees and elbows.  he says they don't itch or hurt , he was taking augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) for an uri ?

Rashes: Are best evaluated by being seen...Literally. Blister like pimples on elbows and knees could be molluscum conatgiosum...Can't tell without seeing.  You don't say how long they have been there.  Did they appear since he was on the medication or before? Could be a viral rash. Does not sound like a typical allergy rash from medication..Make an appointment with your physician for the best answer.

was diagnosed with bronchitis, suspected to be bacterial+secondary to uri. day 6 of augmentin.cough and energy improved, phlegm less and lighter colored. however, chest tightness, short of breath and chest discomfort remain. is this normal?

: Bronchitis alone is unlikely to cause chest tightness or shortness of breath. This situation easily could be complicated by pneumonia; or it might have started with more than a garden variety URI, like influenza or covid. Ask your doctor about testing and/or treatment for them, and whether a chest X-ray should be done. Don't delay:  this sort of problem can get more serious quite fast. Good luck.

Your : Your doctor probably felt that some of your symptoms were caused by allergies, which in turn can result in cough, hence the zyrtec. Allergies often cause post nasal drip, which in turn can cause cough.  It is not uncommon to have side effects from zyrtec as you described, so stopping it was the right thing to do. It wont hurt to try another anti-histamine like alavert or claritin. On the other hand , Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) usually takes about 10-14 days to work when dealing with a sinus infection, if not then something like a z-pack may be necessary, however you will need to be re-evaluated by your doctor in order to make this determination.

Likely viral: Almost all upper respiratory infections and sinus infections are caused by viruses antibiotics do not help these illnesses. Antibiotic should not be routinely prescribed. You should focus on symptomatic treatment using medications like Afrin, (oxymetazoline) cough medicine, and decongestants.

Be concerned: You should see your doctor to get this checked out. You may have a sinus infection and may need further evaluation. The liquid vs the pills should have no difference if taken as prescribed. If you have the swelling you  must be seen to make sure there is resolution or that something else is not ongoing.

3 days ago i took 1g azithromycin as my partner had ureaplasmosis infection, today i was prescribed augmentin forte for an upper respiratory infection from a different physician. is it safe to take this many antibiotics in a few days?

Usually quite a: Good choice if it is a bacterial process.  Won't see much improvement in the first 48-72 hours with any antibiotic.
