I : I suggest you go to your primary care provider for evaluation. You may be suffering from a pinched nerve, carpal tunnel or even arthritis. Your doctor will examine you, possibly do blood tests and order appropriate studies. Depending on the diagnosis you may benefit from a short course of steroids and physical therapy.

If you haven't had prior similar problems, then your symptoms should gradually resolve, tho this may take several weeks. But if your symptoms are worsening, seek medical attention promptly because then something other than overuse is occurring.

Varies: Multiple potential causes, I would let your surgeon know.  May be recurrent problem/ tear in that shoulder, or sometimes other conditions can develop.  Carpal tunnel syndrome, for example, is a common cause of numbness in the hand.

Nerve impingement should not be taken lightly.  Any neurologic deficits such as these should be evaluated by a physician promptly.  If you develop any functional loss or weakness that would represent an emergency.
