Moderation: There is not really a certain amount of salt that is needed for athletes so specifically that they need to take teaspoons of salt when they participate in athletics.  There is a certain amount of hydration needed based upon the degree and amount of exertion being done and normal electrolyte levels need to be maintained as well.

Same as salt: Sea salt is simply mostly ordinary salt with a few additives for color and occasionally taste.The basic element is ordinary salt and that is the same as any other salt.  Your body needs salt, but not an excessive amount so sea salt should be added as part of your sodium intake.

NO: I can think of no good reason to put salt on the food of a 7 month old. At that age, they are more interested in textures than flavors. However, getting a kiddo used to eating salty food so early will only cause them problems in the long run. Straight baby food is the best at this stage.
