why there's so many people and doctors so scared about omicron variant? maybe i'm mistaken it but i read that the symptoms are mild like a cold , i know is more contagious but with those symptoms why the hysteria?

: ON AVERAGE, COVID-19 caused by Omicron tends to be milder. But there's still a range from totally asymptoamtic to severe infection, and plenty of Omicron infections require hospitalization and sometimes are fatal, especially in people with underlying medical conditions and/or who have not been vaccinated. If you haven't been vaccinated, do it ASAP!

is blepharitis contagious? the doctor says my husband has blepharitis. do i need to worry about catching it?

Blepharitis : Blepharitis is not contagious. It is a condition caused by overgrowth of local bacteria. These are non-pathogenic but create scaling of the skin from overgrowth that is responsible for symptoms. Lid hygiene and antibacterial ointment is used to control the condition.

Good Question: Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain can be viral, autoimmune, bacterial. I am guessing that they have done studies on nana and have not found a cause yet. That will rule out the contagious causes like viruses and bacteria. They will be searching for other causes now like autoimmune or vitamin deficiencies for example.

Rarely: Epiglottis is caused most often by upper airway bacteria including hemophilus  and streptococci..These common bacteria are everywhere , but only a very small number of people who have these bacteria on their body actually get  an active infection.

Maybe. White tongue: The tongue is known to have many variations with pigmenting, size, appearance, &amp; not always due to disease. Causes of a tongue that looks white include: lichen planus (responds to steroids), white sponge nevus (familial, benign, permanent), smoker's leukoplakia (2% risk of cancer, needs biopsy), hairy leukoplakia (due to epsteinbarr virus), warts (due to papillomavirus), "thrush" (rx antifungals).

Nope: Hepatitis A, unlike hepatitis B and C, does not cause a chronic illness.  It is like most other viruses where it causes a self limited disease: the end of which either you survive it or succumb to the acute illness/liver failure.  So if a person has survived it in the past, they will no longer have any active virus to pass on.  Hope this helps.

Oral herpes (HSV): (aka cold sores/fever blisters) is caused by herpes simplex type 1 (less commonly type 2 wh/is usually associated w/genital hsv) virus.  Hsv is common & almost 100% of people have been infected via person-person contact w/oral secretions (kissing/ utensils/ close contact . Infection can spread to other body parts by touching infected oral or genital secretions with same or skin (wrestlers/athlete).
