Herpes 1 (HSV-1): Does hsv-1, 2 only cause cold sores, no- other viruses can cause them. However, hsv-1 can "regularly" cause cold sores on lips.

If she has no : Sores on her lips then there is little chance of transmission .  Have you ever has a cold sore in your mouth anytime in your life? If so then you have it too already . 80% of people carry the herpes simplex I virus that causes cold sores.

There is a chance: There's not much you can do about it now except wait.  Active lesions are usually how you spread the virus, but if she was within 48 hours of a breakout, there may have been viruses present.  Best of luck.

Cold sores: Melissa officinalis or lemon balm (cream) expedites healing of cold sores. It can reduce healing time by half. Studies also show that regular use can help v recurrences.  Brief supplementation with lysine 1, 000mg orally three times a day at the onset, can also hasten healing. Your physician can prescribe oral valtrex (valacyclovir). Laser treatments are also used to treat cold sores.

Depends: You will  not  contact if that  ' some one ' did not have herpes , infected one  even if did not have sores some times  will shed virus and there is a slight chance of getting infected.  Usually prolonged contacts are needed.

Depends...: ...On what the sores look like.  Sometimes you can get bacterial infections around the nose and mouth (impetigo).  Sores on the inside of the lip can be canker sores (not herpes).  Better to get checked out.  Your doctor can do a swab of the sore and know for sure.

Oral herpes: Probaby your bf has oral herpes (cold sores). It is always caused by herpes simplex virus, usually type 1 (HSV1). Herpes isn&#x27;t so easily transmitted; many partners don&#x27;t catch it. But play it safe: if you have neg HSV1 blood test, he shouldn&#x27;t kiss or perform oral sex on you during an outbreak. Transmission might still occur, but not likely; and easily treated if it happens and start Rx early.
