See details: Stay away from minoxidil. It is far from universally helpful and causes reduced testosterone and therefore often causes erectile dysfunction.

YES.: if you wash your hair shortly after applying Minoxidil, you might prevent some of it from reaching the hair follicle, thus reducing its effectiveness.  Good question!

i use minoxidil 5% for my hair but it grows hair on my cheeks, front, eyebrows .. is it because i don't cover my head after applying it ? thank you

When you stop using: it, it stops growing hair! So, unless the minoxidil is running down your face while you use it, it should just help locally on your scalp. It won't by itself also increase facial hair. Also the quality of hair is fine and not thick, lustrous hair that is grown. So, if normal facial hair (coarse) is appearing, it may not be because of Minoxidil. See your doctor to examine this for sure.

i am using foam minoxidil and i it dry my hair sometimes, so i want to use hair serum. can i use it or not, and how long shoud i wait before applying it? also what best hair serum to use?

: Topical 5% minoxidil can be very effective in treating many forms of hair loss. It can cause some drying of the hair and some itching on the scalp. It usually takes several mos to see results. Not sure that " hair serums " will work as well. Advise you to see dermatologist for further eval and treatment of your scalp hair loss.

Minoxidil: You will wash the minoxidil out if you wash your hair. It is best to apply minoxidil to scalp and leave it in place for 6 hours for optimal results. If you wash your hair, you will need to reapply it to scalp.

Some thoughts...: Billions of men and boys shave every day to get rid of any beard that might be starting. That means not having a beard is a great time-saver, and that beards are unnecessary for humans. The medical question is whether or not a guy has other male characteristics (which would be evidence that his hormone levels are normal)... and a visit to one's primary care doctor can address those issues.

Not fool proof : It is not fool proof and will not every one will have the same results otherwise everyone with hair loss would be using it.It's likely caused by your hair follicles shifting from a dormant phase to an active growing phase: as new hair growth begins, your old hairs are released and fall out.

Hair loss: I was taught that under 200 hairs a day is normal loss. I would continue with the rogaine (minoxidil) and go see your doctor since there are prescription medication that can also help like finistride

It can potentially: Most of the time it's peach fuzz on cheeks & temples, even if Minoxidil is not applied there. Minoxidil was discovered for hair loss is that patients that were taking Minoxidil pills for high blood pressure started growing hair, not only on the scalp but other places. However, excessive hair growth does not happen to everyone and when you stop minoxidil, it usually goes away after a few months.
