Minoxidil: You will wash the minoxidil out if you wash your hair. It is best to apply minoxidil to scalp and leave it in place for 6 hours for optimal results. If you wash your hair, you will need to reapply it to scalp.

Timing & Absorption: Minoxidil's absorbed from the scalp for several hours after application, it is more appropriate to wash your hair first and then apply Minoxidil. As an aside, daily application of shampoo tends to deplete necessary oils and thus, it's better to shampoo you hair every other to every third day. In contradistinction, Minoxidil requires daily application for long-term success.
