how to stop anxiety and vomiting after general anesthesia?

Different problems: Nausea and vomiting can be treated with medications such as ondansetron (zofran) or Metoclopramide (reglan).  Anxiety is more complicated.  If anxiety is due to pain, then pain relief may be the best treatment.  If it is due to another problem such as difficulty with breathing, then that should be addressed. Sedatives should only be used if other causes of distress and anxiety have been ruled out.

why might hsg be needed (infertility)? can i refuse it? what are alternatives? can i ask for anesthesia? very prone to anxiety, low pain threshold.

HSG wow: Hsg is appropriate (at some point) for all females undergoing fertility treatment. It tests your tubes; the alternative test is surgery. Of course you can refuse it, but some doctors - me for instance - will not treat you  (prescriptions) more than 3 cycles if you decline. No one will give you general anesthesia, some will give valium for anxiety (i don't ever), but thats another story.).

i have a lot of ptsd/anxiety issues and i have asperger's syndrome. i need a colonoscopy. is that something that can be done in the or and under general anesthesia?

Yes: Under special situations like yours it can be done under heavier sedation thqn normal, not necessarily general but when you are really out of it and do not remember anything at all so you will not have to be anxious about the procedure.

can you take valium before a colposcopy? i have severe anxiety when it comes to needles and medical procedures, as they don't use anesthesia for colposcopy, they say an ib profrium is okay. is taking a valium to help with both pain and fainting or nausea

Your : Your doctor should be ok with you taking a valium prior to the colposcopy. I just recommend you call in advance and inform them of your intentions.
Please don't feel horrified about the procedure. Colposcopy is a very common and safe procedure. If you have any questions or concerns make sure you ask your doctor prior to the procedure.

i had an unplanned c-section and was put under general anesthesia. now i have a strong anxiety toward getting pregnant again. how can i get help?

Counseling: As with any medical condition, pregnancy and delivery can be fraught with unpredictable events. Nonetheless, pregnancy and birth and having a newborn is such a wonderful part of life, that perhaps its best to focus on the positives. Counseling can certainly be helpful if needed. Good luck.

i need a root canal with local anesthesia for my molar tooth. i now  take 0.25 mg xanax (alprazolam) 3 times a day for my anxiety. is it safe to have anesthesia?

Yes: Yes, just let your dentist/endodontist know what current meds you are on if they are going to use anything else besides local anesthetic.

general anesthesia in hospital to have a back molar pulled. is it safe?  how long will i be out?  i have hypothyroidism. copd anxiety.

Very safe: You'll be out as long as the procedure takes, but you probably won't remember that day.  General anesthesia in a hospital with an anesthesiologist (anesthetist) has never been safer.

is severe acute procedural anxiety an acceptable medical necessity for general anethestia to be covered by insurance for a ureteral stent removal and vasectomy done at the same time? usually both recommend local, won't do either w/o general anesthesi?

: Each insurance company is different in how it covers general anesthesia for patients with severe acute procedural anxiety. Talk to your Dr who can contact your insurance for a Pre Procedure Authorization. If they cover it, they will authorize. If not, they will let you or the Dr know why not.
