: Hydrosalpinx means that the ends of the fallopian tubes where normally there are fimbria which wave the ova into the tubes, is misshapen or scarred. This means that there may be an obstruction or that there may be abnormalities in the pathway. Talk to the Dr who diagnosed you as the hysterosalpingogram would have much more detail about your specific situation.

: If there is active infection as a cause of the issue antibiotics may help. If it is caused by old scarring of the structure it would not. The deep organs of the body are not wired with pain sensors like you have on your fingers, but they do have sensors that trigger pain with stretch/distension like you get when you are gassy. The term hydrosalpinx describes a fluid distended tube.

Difficult to say: If you're hydrosalpinx was due to an acute case of pelvic  inflammatory disease, i would consult with your doctor to see if that condition has resolved before resuming intercourse. Also a lot of the times swollen blocked tubes are caused from an infection that may be sexually-transmitted. Consider always using barrier contraception until trying to conceive.

Get treated: It is always best to be treated. With hydrosalpinx, it might be the infection is long gone and antibiotics won't help. However, it isn't certain, and treatment might help clear it up and/or reduce the chance you will be infertile. See a gynecologist, preferably one with expertise in STDs and other infections, and follow her or his advice. Good luck!

Hydrosalpinx: Pelvic inflammatin can occur with non STD bacteria as well and is typically less severe than the type associated with an STD.  In addition, some women have been exposed to chlamydia and took an antibiotic that treated it without knowing it.  This is called silent chlamydia.  A chlamydia trachomatis IgG can be ordered to see if that is the case.  This is a blood test.

Infection: Infection is the more common cause of a hydrosalpinx. Other causes can be endometriosis and prior pelvic surgery.  It's "cured" in most cases by removing it to avoid fertility problems (getting/staying pregnant) and an increased risk of ectopic pregnancy.

: Please discuss the findings with your doc. The report indicates there is significant scarring of the structures that are often seen in those with infertility. Tumeric has well known anti-inflammatory actions that can help with many aches &amp; pains in life. It's value here is not evident, so I would not expect it to have value in this problem.

Yes: It is a contained but chronic source of infection. If it becomes inflames it can irritate the appendix and colon. If it bursts ipen it can cause a life threatening infection.
