tooth infection on antibiotics now headache and slight fever has it spread to brain?

Tension headache: The antibiotics prevent the spread of the infection and  it takes 24-48 hrs for it to be fully effective so a slight fever is common.
The headache is probably from tension of your head muscles especially if the toothache is making you clench or shifting your jaw to avoid contact with infected tooth.

i had cold or flu two weeks ago, and also an ear infection. i took antibiotics, and other than headaches is clearing,but i find myself so tired all day. i feel half awake not thinking clearly, and not sure what is causing this. any advice? thank you?

: Post COVID-19 infection, this may occur. Obtain a COVID 19 PCR screening test. After a respiratory infection, fatigue is common, but improves in a few weeks. Rest, stay well hydrated and have a healthy diet. Monitor temperature and breathing and watch for signs of shortness of breath. Please follow up with your physician. See your doctor: There are many possible causes for your headache. Perhaps the rate of flow needs to be decreased. It may be the cause by the antibiotics themselves. Is the antibiotic temperature the problem? Is your picc line malpositioned? These are common problems that i solve for my pationts in my infusion center. See your doctor.

Not typical: but possible.  Diarrhea and nausea more common.

Accepted Answer

There are several: types of headaches, sinus headaches being one of them.  You won't know what you have going on until you see your doc.  He/she can rule things out and identify what is happening and treat if needed.  Be safe and also comfortable.  Peace and good health. Try a natural product called Xlear and use a humidifier in room to sleep.

i am currently taking the antibiotic sulfamethoxazole and i was wondering if i can take a tylenol (acetaminophen) due to a headache.?

Yes: Tylenol (acetaminophen) does not interact with antibiotics. Always good to check on medication interactions.

i had a ridiculously bad headache all night and woke up to find my nose ring very infected. any correlation? antibiotic needed or no?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: If you use something, try a topical ointment, like bacitracin or neosporin.  It is very unlikely that an infection in your nose ring causes headaches.

If you have fevers, double vision, or a protruding eye ball, seek attention immediately!  Those three are symptoms of an infection behind the eye.

im taking bactrim ds as an antibiotic to treat impetigo and its giving me a throbbing headache the whole time. should i keep taking it?

I would: If you can relate the headache to the time you started taking the drug (within the first day or so) I would consider it an uncommon but possible response to the drug. I would then call your doc so the side effect can be recorded in your chart. Hopefully any related side effect would be gone within 2-3 days after stopping. If not there may be a more involved issue you need to sort out with your doc

had a root canal.  after finishing antibiotic am experiencing headaches from the top of my head to base of skull.  800 ib alleviates pain but returns?

May be muscle: tension headache. Try ice to back of head and neck and gentle stretching. If not improving see your doctor.
