i've dealt with anorexia for 6 years but i am still overweight. i've been told that dieting anymore can be dangerous but i am still overweight. is there a diet that is safe for recovering anorexics?

: If really "overweight"- meaning BMI of over 25, then a balanced diet is important.  eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, and getting adequate protein.  Eating a variety of foods and avoiding restrictive eating is important.  There are a number of excellent diets out, and nutritional counseling may be helpful.

Amt.and control: crash dieting is not a medical term but implies a very large amount of calories out and not one you could stay on forever.
Anorexia has disordered thoughts implicit in the definition of people not realizing how thin they are.

Most do, not all: In order to get your periods back you must regain adequate weight.  Exercise may interfere with return of menstruation, too, and (annoyingly) may need to be drastically limited during the recovery period, even after weight is adequate.  Dieting is very bad for the hormones in nearly every setting.   When periods do not return it is usually because of low weight&/or too much exercise.

No: Here is a good dietary plan for recovery.  It is essentially a regular diet!  Your body needs water and high fiber foods for regular bowels.

No specific : Depends on each pt and what each one needs it is very critical that they get checked for their metabolic needs as hykakalemia and hypophosphatemua are the most critical issues which can lead to morbidity and mortality issues no one should be giving away anorexia diet plan.

Small meals often..: Recovery takes time and meal plan is very importnant to replnish nutrients.Anorexia causing not just calorie supression but lack of minerals, protein, vitamins and immune system is weakneed. Consider breakfast Jogurt with fresh furit, nuts. Snak mozarela stick, apple. Lunch soup , salad + egg, avocado, olive oil..., Snack hummus with carrot or other. Dinner grill fish, chicken, plenty of water.

im 8 months into recovery from anorexia. im on a meal plan. im experiencing sererve belly pains, and constipation. i cant poo but if i do go have a literally force it out and it hurts. i still get really dizzy and headache. also pins and needles?

: You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods.

is it bad to go on a low sugar diet for anorexic recovery? my current bmi is 17.7 which is an increase from 15 point something.

Well rounded is best: A high sugar diet,is really not the best choice,for anyone.  While some sugar in your,diet is ok, this should be in the context of a well rounded and nutritionally balanced diet.  Work with a nutritionist to figure out how to best do this.
