Sounds like you have: Swelling in that area.  Without knowing more about whether you have pain at your ankle or pain at your calf or other issues going on - and I can't see or examine your ankle - it's not clear if this swelling related to impaired venous/lymphatic drainage which can happened after surgery in that area, or if it's related to intrinsic joint issues or even a blood clot.  Have your doc check it out.

When healed. : Bone typically takes 6-8 weeks to heal, and if you had screws placed, you're likely waiting on bone to heal before you can become active again. Check with your surgeon: your healing rate can be determined with a set of x-rays. You don't want to push your body too fast!

i just had ankle hardware removal surgery to remove a plate and screws from a fracture years ago. what dosage of aspirin should i take daily to reduce my chances of dvt, etc. following the surgery? i am weight bearing and mostly active at this point?

: At age "37", without a history of cardiac or pulmonary disease, a "baby aspirin" (81 mg) is sufficient for prophylaxis for a possible DVT.  Consult your orthopedic surgeon for his/her recommendation as well.

Red your surgeon: You need either to go back to the original surgeon or to your primary doctor and referred to orthopedic.  If you have infection now the er can give you an antibiotic but you will still need the orthopedic

Varies: It would depend on what the surgery was for but an average would be 6-8 weeks.

U will receive some: Sedative during the removal of the screws and thereafter ur ortho can give u mild and strong analgesics so pain should be not of major concern. Ask him about the duration of not having the screws. Take care!

6 plus weeks: Broken bones take about six weeks to heal if you're otherwise healthy. Recovery includes healing of  the fracture but also physical therapy. Done adjacent  muscles, tendons etc. Also have to heal.
