Depends: If you can walk on it without limping or pain i would not be concerned.
If swollen and painful then use ice and compression.
Consider seeing a podiatrist.

Pain: Pain is a good guide of the body's healing... It sets a boundary of what is ok and not ok and as healing improves, your body will allow you to do more and more.

Magnetism........: The MRI can be used to confirm the suspicion of any torn ligaments after suffering from an ankle injury. However, the fact that a ligament is shown to be torn may not necessarily change the manner in which the ankle sprain it treated.

Another: 2-4 weeks at least. Bone "bruises" (Periosteal hematoma )
are notorious for prolonged disability. This is a collection of blood (now clotted) UNDER the LINING of the BONE ITSELF!! The CIRCULATION is LIMITED in that area.  ACTIVE PHYSICAL THERAPY along with DEEP HEAT and ULTRASOUND treatments is INDICATED and will diminish the time for recovery

Yes: Yes, bruising can occur after a sprained ankle because the sprain is actually a tearing of ligaments around the ankle and the swelling around the ankle naturally builds up, and this could cause bruising, not necessarily only around the ankle but the entire foot too.

An ankle brace: Or orthotic while walking is probably a good idea. If pt failed and after the above advice you may want to consider surgical correction, if the issue is a problem.

Sprain PTT: The area being tender is probably the posterior tibial tendon on the medial part of the ankle. It can get sore independently or after a sprain. For this tendon problem i would recommend an arch support in a supportive tennis shoe and this rehab program: http://orthoinfo.Aaos.Org/pdfs/rehab_foot_and_ankle_4.Pdf         achilles stretching is very important.
