Unlikely : Only if you have been bleeding from it and a) have a low blood count or b) are iron deficient. Both require a blood test for diagnosis.

Yes: Usually adult children. The youngest patient I have seen in my practice with a family history of colon cancer, was first diagnosed at age 18.

Accepted Answer

: No. The incidence pf polyps has increased due to earlier and more frequent tests. Not all polyps become malignant. No overwhelmingly they did not have polyps when they were children.

Not common: This is not a common finding. Colon cancer is usually seen in older people.

Accepted Answer

Yes/No: Adenomas which are dysplatic polyps that increase the risk for colorectal cancer are not commonly found in children.  However  wit peutz-jeghers syndrome and juvenile polyposis, children may have colon polyps with cancer risks. Isolated juvenile polyps (hamartomas) of the colon are common (occurring in 1 to 2 percent of children), usually solitary, and are no risk for cancer.

Help what?: If you referring to cleansing your colon..It can clean out your stool, but as you eat stool will re-accumulate. Is there a health benefit? I am not aware of anything signifincant, at least not in the long run.
As a matter of fact, excessive use/missue of such can destroy normal colonic bacteria and predispose to other problems/infections. Not recommended.

Not necessary: The desire to clean the colon relates to ancient medical theories about internal toxicity derived from the colon.  The colon, thank you, is fully capable of taking care of itself and needs no cleansing.  You can pay a great deal of money to alternate practitioners for colon cleansing but this is money badly spent.  If you think you have medical problems, see your family doctor.

No: There is no need for and no benefit of doing colon  cleansings. Your colon cleanses itself by having bowel movements. There is no buildup of toxins anywhere in the colon. Colon cleansings are unnecessary and can be unhealthy. Stick with a high-fiber diet for good colon health! Good luck.

Not a fan: I am not a fan of these techniques.  Your colon is made to handle a high bacterial load and eliminate wastes.  Proper nutrition and a high fiber diet with good hydration help it to work better in doing this.  Aggressive cleanses can upset electrolyte balance and lead to colon irritation as well as upset normal bacterial flora (and lead to things like c-difficile colitis).

H.Pylori: H.Pylori lives exclusively in the stomach and affects stomach only. The colon may be affected indirectly as a result of stomach inflammation but not due to the direct effect of H.Pylori.
