Hmmm...: What do you mean by anxiety?  In my way of thinking, caffeine (espcially in normal amounts) as a drug does not have the pharmacological property of causing ANXIETY.  However, EXCESS caffeine usage in an individual can, by a different number of ways (i.e. too much as in Energy drinks, withdrawal as in cutting back or sudden cold turkey) cause jitteriness, nervoussness, shakiness, etc.

Try something new: Sounds like long standing anxiety isn't being very well controlled with ativan (lorazepam). You might want to try a different approach, including cognitive behavioral therapy, exercise therapy, and a completely different category of medication that could be helpful in the prevention of anxiety. Symptoms like these deserve a full evaluation in person by your health care provider.

Depression is low mood, a feeling of worthlessness and sadness, sometimes leading you to frquent crying or even suicidal thoughts. You should seek medical help or counseling if you have symptoms of depression as it may not settle down.
