Atrial septal aneury: Atrial septal aneurysm is seen sometimes on echo. Usually there are no hemodynamic consequences, we worry about thrombus formation but unless the rhythm is atrial fibrillation don't know that we should anticoagulate.

my latest cardiac mri said 'the interatrial septum is mildly aneurysmal and bulging to the right'. what does this mean doctor, and how is this treated? thank you?

: As per the description, if the atrial septum is "bulging to the right", it could relate to mitral valve stenosis, which would increase the left atrial ejection pressure, and cause mild aneurysmal "bulging".  See a cardiologist , who may order a cardiac ECHO to determine the cause.

: Yes, those findings in echo and heart MRI could be related. I wonder why you had these tests done and the reason why the heart MRI was ordered. However, trivial MR is usually clinically insignificant.

Hi ya neighbor: I grew up next door in ohio. What u describe is a nit rare "bulge" inside the heart. See the cardiol who did your echo. Perhaps consider 81 mg chewable aspirin. Check with ur md.

No concern: This is not a concern. An aneurysmal atrial septum is just a description of septal tissue with some redundancy. It isn't at all similar to an aneurysm of the brain or aorta, etc. If your ASD is closed you're all set!

Echocardiogram data: The measurements are within normal range for adults with normal range BSA, atrial septal aneurysm is not normal.

Rhinoscopy: You need to have your doctor look in your nose the deviation can be seen with a regulat nasal rhinoscopy  or if it was deep, then needs ENT

No unless it was : Caused by recent trauma.
