More info needed: I am not aware of any specific rash associated with anemia.  Please be more specific in your question.  People with anemia will appear more pale depending on the degree of anemia.  If you have a rash, you should be seen by your physician.

dx with hashimoto's (8yrs), mast cell (mcas) over the last year or so and my symptoms are worsening. major food sensitivities, chronic fatigue, chronic anemia,joint/nerve pain, rashes. recent tpo 2053 and antithyro 1.21. should i be concerned?

: I can see a need for you to be followed and advised by an allergist, rheumatologist &amp; endocrinologist. Your Hashimoto's thyroiditis should be the easiest of the 3 conditions to control. Avoiding severe allergic reactions is important. I'm sure you've learned the list of foods with high histamine contents such as nuts,seafoods,wheat,etc, as well as other triggers. Has lupus been diagnosed?

See below.: Anemia can be caused by 5th Disease, although there could also be a concurrent other cause for the anemia, so I wouldn't say for sure that's what it is from. Most toddlers don't get very ill from 5th, if they are otherwise healthy. You should speak to her doctor about other causes to be ruled out, for example, iron deficiency.

Yes: This infection can trigger a pause in red cell production for a week or more in anyone. It would usually resume unnoticed and get back to normal production levels after, but since about 1% of red cells wear out daily, the pause can result in a gradual decline in the count. However, there are also many nutritional factors that could aggravate the process &amp; I wouldn't rely on it as the only factor.

Be calm, 5th's dz: is a common viral infection seen in children. It is caused by parvovirus. Anemia shouldn't affect the course of the infection which is self-liming, but My question is why is your child anemic. I would focus on good supportive care, lots of fluids, prune juice good for anemia and foods high in iron. But discuss with your pediatrician. Hope that helps

Tests: These tests need monitoring but cannot establish a diagnosis. You need to have them followed up if your joint issues continue to occur. See a rheumatologist.

Yes: ANA is just a marker that we look for to screen for lupus.  It is not perfect.  Just because it is negative does not mean you do not have lupus.  Also, just because it is positive does not mean you have it either.

Two measurements: The first measurement is hemoglobin (oxygen-carrying protein inside red blood cells).  This is reported as grams per 100 ml (g/dl).  Values <12 (14 for men) are considered anemic. The second is hematocrit.  This indicates the % of volume of blood taken up by red blood cells.  Values <36 (42 for men) are considered anemic. Note: different labs might have slightly differing normal ranges.
