Further evaluation: You headaches and pain on the left eye could be related- cluster headache for instance- but could also be caused by other cause that still needs to be evaluated. Anemia: Sickle cell is exclusively in blacks and if severe would have manifested from early childhood. A simple hemoglobin electrophoresis should tell you if you have any genetic defect. Otherwise, there are other types of anemia that are way more common - iron deficiency, hemorrhagic, aplastic, b12/folic acid deficiency, anemia of chronic disease etc.

my eye doctor told me i have a retinal hemorrhage. i do not have high blood pressure, diabetes, leukemia or sickle cell anemia. another cause?

Retinal hemorrhage: I have seen a patient who had not high blood pressure as measured in her arms because she had hardening of the arteries to both arms thus lowering the measured pressure in both arms to normal. Which her aortic pressure was over 200. More likely causes are DM, taking aspirin, or warfarin, or have low platelets.
