Btw, antibiotics like Amoxicillin only work against bacteria but not against virus which cause most common colds & sort throats.

: The current recommended dosing of amoxicillin for children is 90 mg per kilogram per day divided into two or three doses. 60 lbs. is 27.3 kg times 90 equals 2,455 mg so your dose is appropriate. It may help to have some food in your stomach before taking it or ask your doctor if you could have a small dose of Zofran or other anti-nausea medicine to take with the amoxicillin. Zithromax dosage: The appropriate dose of Azithromycin for a child of 25 Kg is not the same as the dose for the adult.  Higher doses are sometimes used for diseases like Pertussis.
