Need for confirmatory trial in usa to be officially approved for use.

Generalization: There's some debate about this, but medically, most men get more than enough iron for daily requirements from diet. Some women may not get enough, especially if they don't eat foods like meat or leafy greens.  Generalizing that "americans" are getting too much iron really isn't possible, at this point. Also, are you speaking of north americans, south americans, native americans?

Too much: Multiple organizations  give different answers  for what is a low sodium diet. Most recommend 100 meq/day, which is equal to 2.3g (2300mg) of sodium. Regardless all of them give a number well under the us average intake of  4000mg of sodium. A low sodium diet can be very helpful in the control of high blood pressure and body swelling and long term probably decreases heart attacks and strokes.

Why do you ask?: "average" isn't necessarily good. Most american men have a paunch & would be better without. Your best weight is what looks and feels right for you and lets you participate in sports successfully. A man does not need any body fat. You can gain muscle as your bone structure, genes and eagerness to do resistance training allow. The "ideal weight" charts are "entertainment only". Be you, not average.

Unfortunately, worse: In many cultures, senior citizens are treated far worse than in the us. Just visit any other country (first world or developing), and you will notice nearly no handicapped access, no elevators, no ramps, nothing to aid the elderly or infirm or physically limited. New zealand and australia are rare examples that do care for their aging population.

NO!!..........but...: It's really about you!  although certain groups have more issues with drug abuse and addiction, it ultimately comes down to who you are......Do you have a job that you enjoy?....Are your friends and family plagued with drug problems?.....Have you been mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy?  If you are at a party and are offered drugs, what will you do?  Do you know how to just  say "no"?
