May not work: The recommended directions are to take one or two twice a day.  If you have only used one a time, wait until time for the next dose (12 hours after the last) and try two.  They are meant to be absorbed through the tissue in the mouth so let them just sit there-don't swallow them.  If you have used two at a time for at least two doses, I would presume they are not effective and would contact yourGP

was on viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) but switched to effexor. is it still safe to take prochlorperazine for my occasional nausea?

Effexor (venlafaxine) effects: Effexor (venlafaxine) is a medication for treatment of Depression.

Prochlorperazine can have many side effects.

Using Prochlorperazine with Effexor (venlafaxine) can increase the risk of a rare irregular heart rhythm that may be serious and potentially life-threatening.
For occasional nausea, take Ginger ale, 7Up or Gatorade.

i have add severe nausea since january. ive seen 2 gastro doctors, primary and psychiatrist. no one can find the cause. only promethazine helps but it puts me to sleep. will compazine be good for during the day, also any help what it could be?

: Your body is talking to you.  Listen and take good notes. Such as what you eat and drink and see if you can find trigger that sets you off. Then share with your team. You all will figure it out. I was taught that practicing medicine was not easy.  Keep at it.

: Every patient is their own experiment. The only way to tell is to try different things if what you are one is not working. Or the "problem" for which they are being given is not real problem.  Always go to Drugs.com and enter ALL meds you are taking into their interaction checker.  When you change drugs try to keep a diary of what is going on so you can judge if you are better, the same or worse

Cruising &amp; Compazine: Compazine is a powerful medication, and an old drug.  It originally was used as an anxiolytic and antipsychotic but was found to have anti-emetic properties.  It has fallen out of favor due to side effects and the advent of better medications for nausea and vomiting.  It may actually be too potent for your intended purpose and might make you feel worse on a ship.  There are better medications.

Of : Of the medications you listed, none of them are known to cause leg/ankle swelling or fluid retention.  Amitriptyline can cause some cardiac arrhythmias, however, that potentially could lead to fluid retention, but this is much more common in patients with a preexisting heart problem.

I would let your primary care physician know about this swelling.  It's probably unrelated to any medication you're taking (especially if the swelling just started and you've been on these meds for a while), but i think you have something else going on that's causing the swelling.

Yes: The patient may get a bit sleepy but you can. We did that very often in anesthesia when person was refractory to Compazine then we added Reglan (metoclopramide) iv.

Procyclidine/Prochlo: Prochlorperazine (Compazine) is for treating nausea/vomiting.  Procyclidine (Kemadrin) is for treating side-effects of Antipsychotics.
