Milk thistle should: help, and not make it worse, and it's effects should be cleared within a day. See doctor if energy level is crashing. This is not normal, when you had great energy before.

yes: I think Alpha lipoic acid is an excellent supplement if you are taking a high quality product. Some products have a lot of added ingredients and fillers which make them undigestable and possibly toxic. Ala helps with Insulin metabolism, and liver detoxification. Its a good antioxidant as well, which helps your overall health. The dosage varies depending on your condition.

Likely OK: But not fully clear if either helps substantially.  The Alpha lipoic has been touted as of value with memory loss and even alzheimer's, but hard to assess full benefit.  Not sure that hyaluronic acid orally has even a fraction of the joint benefits of an injection into the knee. Would definitely discuss both with your regular doctor.

Alpha-lipoic acid: There's good research evidence for using alpha-lipoic acid in peripheral neuropathy http://tinyurl.Com/l4bvz9z , as an antioxidant, and in migraines http://tinyurl.Com/jvo6x9n -- some other uses also.  Hyaluronic acid may help in osteoarthritis and aging skin.  Neither of these supplements should interfere with a drug test, but you should tell the examiners you're using them.

lipoic acid naturally occurs in our bodies ; is very safe (some in the study got a rash). But i'm not too impressed with the results ; that dose is pretty pricey.

Goals?: All supplements should be taken with specific goals and for limited amounts of time. Medical history and current drugs will have also to be considered in deciding about the safety of taking above supplements. Your doc should be able to address in that context.

No/doesn't matter: These supplements have no effect on the hormone. If you choose to use supplements you can take them when you want. Most have little value.
