Yes: But if your cough is not from  post-nasal drips, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) won't do anything for you. Make sure your cough is not from a reflux disease. Consult a doctor if the problem is a prolonged one.

Her cough : Is more than likely from her postnatal drainage . If she does have a stuffy nose and chest congestion ( noisy breathing , wet cough or a rattle in her chest ), you can give her Mucinex (guaifenesin) 1/2 teaspoon twice daily for 2-3 days and see if it helps. Take her in, if her condition gets worst, start wheezing , fever going up and not eating or drinking or if you are concerned!

Check with pharmacy: SUlfa drugs are a class of drugs called sulfonimides, Terbutaline is not in that class, and the sulfate refers to a part of the terbutaline. Should be ok, but always best to check with the pharmacist, or you obstetrician. Hope this helps!
