recovering from allergic reaction to clindamycin.  been off of it for 48 hours.  can i have a few beers?  or will alcohol make the rash worse?

Allergy: Go easy on the liquor -alcohol and/or beer, and stop taking it for a few more days.
If the allergic reaction is gone, go back to your drinks but, as always, don't overdo it.

Depends on the: type of reaction.  Generally hives will resolve faster than some of the other allergic rashes.  Fixed drug eruptions can take days to weeks as can erythema multiforme (milder form of an SJS type reaction) .  If you do not have extensive mouth and mucous membrane lesions, and your skin is not peeling  you can stop worrying about SJS.  The question is, what caused the rash, the med or the infection?

A week: Drug reactions usually take 7-10 days to clear after stopping the medication.

if a pill has a differnt manufacture but is the same dosage and all can i still have an allergic reaction? it's clindamycin. i'm not allergic to it.

Unlikely: Many medications are available in generic form from various manufacturers. Clindamycin is clindamycin, whomever makes it. Now, don't be taking someone elses medications. Any questions at all about your meds should be directed to the prescribing physician. Good luck.

: A drug allergic reaction may be present. It should improve with allergy eye drops. Rinse with saline and if redness persists, see your physician. For eye pain or change in vision, see the Emergency room.

hypochondriac scared of sjs was on cleocin (clindamycin phosphate) 4 2 days a week ago stopped due to allergic reaction. feel kind of sick not sure if stress/no sleep or sjs?

Steven Johnson :  Signs and symptoms  of Steven Johnson syndrome usually pretty severe and include fever &gt;38°C (100.4°F), skin tenderness, blistering rash and inflamed mucosa, often involving mouth, lips, tongue. It's a dermatological emergency and requires immediate treatment.

petechiae only on right foot all over. was on cipro/clindamycin for a right toe infection. allergic reaction? when will it go away?

Right foot: I have seen this before.  In that case it was pressure induced from a shoe too tight.  Other causes can be emboli from heart.

Yes: I have seen this in patients..Sometimes people can tolerate one or the other item  but not the two when used together.  Best to stop using them..Take an antihistamine(allegra (fexofenadine) zyrtec, check the labels) and try something else. If the eaction gets worse see your dr.

was given ketoconazole for itching and clindamycin for scalp bumps and doxycycline antibiotic for folliculitis... i have alot of pain that doesn't seem to be going away.. what could this be? allergic reaction?

Scalp pain: Scalp pain. An allergy would be possible. I see you were given ketoconazole for a fungal infection. Topical antifungals will not be effective for a fungal infection of the scalp. An oral agent would need to be used.

my friend has been off clindamycin for 2 days, breaks out in rash suddenly, hadn't made any changes in cleaners our laundry detergents.reaction to med?

See a doctor: This sounds like an allergic eruption and if due to the Clindamycin the medication needs to be stopped, and something substituted if necessary.  Please show this rash to a doctor asap and definitely discontinue the clindamyciin.
