In : In general you should not take Amoxicillin if you allergic to penicillin. However, vomiting is not indicative of an allergic reaction, rather more likely a side effect. Many studies have shown that most people who say they are allergic to penicillin are actually not. More likely they had a side effect, or developed a non-allergic rash. Still though, i will generally not prescribe any of the penicillin class of medicines to someone who states an allergy- it is not worth the (small) risk as there are plenty of other antibiotics out there. To know if it was alright to stop taking the medication though- i would need to know what you were taking it for.

Yes: No drug is completely devoid of side effects. Often they are very mild to a point of not being noticed. People react differently to the same drugs. This may be caused by our genetic makeup, other diseases or a variety of reasons. If you have questions about your medications, discuss them with your physician or pharmacist.

No: Some medications do have an effect, typically those that act on the pituitary gland or the ovary.  If the medication interferes with menstrual cycles or affects rapidly growing cells, fertility is affected.  Examples are birth control pills, letrozole, and chemotherapeutic agents.

Same as an adult: A 16 year old male can usually take most of the same medicines for schizophrenia as an adult depending on his body size and weight. Most antipsychotics will work the same in adolescents as well as adults. The newer second generation atypical antipsychotics have side effects of increasing the risk of metabolic syndrome. It would be good to consult with a child psychiatrist.

No: People respond to medication differently. One may affect your memory but in another person it may not.  I will say that the most common family of medications which can cause memory problems are the benzodiazepines (i.E xanax, (alprazolam) ativan, valium, klonopin). You have to weigh the pros and cons of the medication and find the right one that works for you.

Very short list: Being an MAO inhibitor, Nardil can cause many interactions with  medicines that would be safe to try otherwise.  Wellbutrin (bupropion) is commonly used to overcome ssri-induced anorgasmia, but isn't safe to use with nardil.   Might you & your doctor consider reducing your Nardil dose to see if this helps, but doesn't cause your other symptoms to return?  I hope my colleagues will have additional ideas . .

good afternoon. i was hoping any dr would please take the time to go through my blood results with me. at the moment all i'm hearing is that i have liver poisoning and i have been taken of all medications which is having a negative impact on me?
