Several Rx available: Some people get insomnia from the the decongestant (usually pseudephedrine) in combination Rx. You could try Allegra (no d).  Consider saline nose spray,  steroid nose spray ( Flonase or Nasacort).  Other antihistamines that are sedating are chorpheniramine  or Benadryl but work well.  For very short term use (2-3 days) a nasal decongestant spray like Afrin is very effective.

is there a faster way to get rid of fluid built up behind the eardrum besides decongestants?  i have taken allegra (fexofenadine) d for one week.

Pop your ears: Block your nose, close your mouth and gently exhale. You might hear bubbling sounds. This may help clear it. Talk to your doctor about using something like afrin (oxymetazoline).

increased prozac (fluoxetine) from 20 to 40 2 weeks ago. started allegra 24 hour (not with decongestant last weekend.  can allegra make you feel jittery/hyper aware?

There are no : Reported drug interactions between Allegra and prozac (fluoxetine). Nervousness is listed as a rare side effect of allegra. Best wishes.

bad allergies x 3 days. i take allegra, and benadryl (diphenhydramine) at night. i am very congested and can't sleep. is there a decongestant okay to take with high bp?

No: It is not a good idea to take decongestant when you have hypertension. Consider an otc nasal steroid to see if it helps (may take a few days).  If not, see your doctor or an allergist.

out of zyrtec & allegra which will not cause acid reflux or gastritis?  when i took claritin, it caused acid reflux.

trying to manage my gerd & seasonal allergies.

fyi decongestants aggravate gerd so they cant have a decongestant. thx?

: Who knows ? Neither drug has a decongestant. The individual response to any such med is just that, an individual response. Gerd by nature waxes &amp; wanes over time. You do the best you can to deal with health issues with the means you have to treat them. I favor avoiding caffeine/nicotine or laying down after meals as a better natural aid, but what works for some doesn't for others.

No: Both have pseudoepinedrine in them and too much could cause your blood pressure to increase, your heart to race and would make you jittery.

Duplication: I suggest using either product but not both: you are double dosing your antihistamines: Allegra-D and Xyzal. Do not mix these medications.
