Acute Injury: Hypotension or low blood pressure can cause underperfusion of the kidney leading to acute kidney injury or acute tubular necrosis. Speak with your physician about these possibilities.

You are correct: This is orthostatic hypotension, which in a young person usually indicates some degree of dehydration.  This is much more likely if you are in a hot environment.  Be sure to drink enough water so that when voiding, the urine looks like water to be sure that you are not dehydrated at all.
Changing posture a little more slowly will also prevent this by giving more time for adjustment of the bp.

could bp meds lower an isolated diastolic hbp at a range of 95 and 100 without lowering the systolic bp too much and cause systolic hypotension? especially when i'm asleep since it already  gets down to 110/70 till 100/60 without being on meds.

Diastolic BP: There are no antihypertensive medications that only target the diastolic BP. If you require medication to treat hypertension, avoid dropping the diastolic bp under 60. In your case, I recommend starting a very low dose diuretic or an ACE inhibitor but take it in the morning after being up and about. Follow-up with your MD and continue home bp monitoring. Don't take bp meds in the afternoon.

on florinef x 6years for hypotension. i always had salt cravings & handfuls daily to keep bp up. still had low serum sodium. for the past few weeks this all stopped. i no longer crave salt-and stopped the handfuls but im retaining weight. causes?

: Your type of low blood pressure tends to resolve over time. I suspect this is what happened to you. Now you're entering a phase of salt and water retention probably due to hormonal changes.If your MD agrees,avoid adding salt at the table and avoid obviously salty foods. A mild diuretic as needed may be prescribed if obvious bloating occurs. Weight reduction would help as fat tissue collects fluid.

See below: Inflamation of the lining causing bleeding, ulcers, occasional malabsortion.  It there is liver disease, there may be swelling of certain blood vessels and bleedimg temdencies.

Absolutely: The liver detoxifies alcohol and is greatly effected over time with some users developing cirrhosis.  Brain cells are lost from drinking and never regenerate.  Virtually every chronic condition is worsened by alcohol use, not to mention falls, fights, and car accidents that occur in greater frequency when individuals are intoxicated.

Heart rate: Im more concerned about your heart rate. Maybe your md can lower your toprol (metoprolol) dose or just stop it.

Doubt it: Orthostasis has multiple causes. I could not find a specific genetic  component. If you know what's causing yours may be there is some genetic or hereditary trait like in diabetes autonomic neuropathy, may be in  lewy body dementia, or shy drager syndrome. Most orthostasis occurs in elderly and pts with anihypertensives or antidepressants.

Interesting question: In some studies, light to moderate drinking (&lt;7 drinks/week in women. &lt;14 drinks/week in men) has been associated with reduced cardiovascular risk.  Anything more increases risk, with binge drinking even worse.
