: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your results are in the normal range. Your A1c is at the upper end of normal and you and your doctor may wish to monitor it.

Depends on the test: If the test measured both serum Albumin and globulins or at least Albumin and total proteins, you can calculate the a/g ratio. However, actual values are more informative than the ratio.

Inconclusive: For the most part, the tests that you list are important in the context of what other numbers are. Mpv is a measure of the plumpness of your platelets, and platelets are important for blood clotting. But, the actual number of platelets (should be &gt;150) is usually more important for bleeding issues. If that number is fine, then this slightly low mpv level could just represent a mild viral infection.

Not low number: Hi. Most commonly, the low albumin:globulin ratio is NOT due to low albumin, but rather due to elevated globulin (so being the denominator, brings the ratio DOWN). Yours is reproducible. It should be evaluated, but I don't think it has anything to do with the Arimidex (anastrozole). I hope your breast CA is going well. Your doc may decide to get a serum and urine protein electrophoresis/immunofixation. Good luc

Normal results.: The liver function tests (LFT's) that you listed are all normal. It can take years for alcohol-induced liver damage to show up as abnormal liver tests. Therefore, the best thing to do to prevent alcohol-induced liver damage is to greatly minimize alcohol use (1 unit of alcohol per day) or even to abstain completely from alcohol. Use of opioids and excessive Tylenol (acetaminophen) use can exacerbate damage.

Not necessarily: About 20% of Multiple myelomas only produce light chains and may not alter serum proteins measurably. There are specific tests for myeloma and Waldenstrom.

Need more info: The data you provided is not in keeping with recurrent kidney cancer, but it does suggest proteinuria an warrants an evaluation by a nephrologist to prevent damage to the kidney.

had panel due to fatigue and aches.  all is well except total protein 8.4 (h) alb 4.7 (h) globulin 3.7 (h) a/g ratio - 1.27. possible myeloma? normal?

Myeloma quite a leap: the globulins are not significantly outpacing the normal proteins (albumin) this would go AGAINST myeloma. And.. proteins can be elevated from concentrated blood (dehydration) would need other measures to assess that.
