how common is bipolar-adhd-ocd ? that's me. with those, is it a illness or a disability? i can't work and usually don't leave my apt.

ADHD: Adhd is combined with other diagnoses, such as ocd, depression, anxiety, etc. About 40-50% of the time.  Keep following up with the doctor and trying different combinations of medications until you find what works for you.  Hopefully you will find the right formula to live a normal life.

Bipolar Disorder: BD: Patients with bd are at higher risk (50% lifetime incidence) for many anxiety subtypes, including generalized anxiety disorder, simple phobia, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ptsd, & panic disorder. Adhd very commonly comorbid with bd but also often misdiagnosed or confused with bd. Evaluation & management by skilled clinician is essential for best function.

diagnosed gad/adhd/ocd years ago. suicidal/homicidal ideation/daily mood swings since beginning new bc pill. hyper aware of environment, no hallucinations. i don't think i want to hurt anyone, but often question/obsess over it. scared of schizo...?

It is wise to have a: Diagnostic evaluation of your specific circumstances by a psychiatrist who will discuss options with you based on the impact of each condition and appropriate treatments. Cognitive behavioral therapy and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors are effective for ocd. Stimulant medications and atomoxetine help adhd. It is wise to address the most prominent condition first. Best regards for relief.

Psychiatrists: All these types of psychiatrists are familiar with treating adhd and ocd.  But your age of 18 would be on the border between adolescence and adult.  Both geriatric and adolescent psychiatrists have additional subspecialty fellowship training beyond general psychiatry -- an add-on to the initial 4 year residency program.  You could see a general adult or adolescent psychiatrist.
