The particular characteristics of the person taking the medication will dictate which is the best and safest amount of medication in each case.

Only if you have ADH (vasopressin): The only time that Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) helps anxiety is if the anxiety is a physical restlessness due to adhd. It does not directly help other forms of anxiety. It can indirectly help anxiety due to depression if the depression is otherwise untreatable and Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is added in adjunctively as a mood elevating medication. In those cases treating the depression this way may alleviate the anxiety.

Yes: Several.  Sometimes we use wellbutrin (bupropion) or a tricyclic antidepressant (like desipramine) for the treatment of adhd.  Other drugs like strattera also show some advantages.  Even within the stimulants, there are other options like Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) or dextroamphetamine, as well as longer-acting preparations such as adderall-xr, vyvanse or concerta.

Yes: If you are taking the er variety then you should not chew the medication as it is designed to "released" slowly. The is a new med called quillavant er that is a liquid form of add mrdication.
