A member asked:

Any adderall/riatlin alternatives out there?

Yes: Several. Sometimes we use wellbutrin (bupropion) or a tricyclic antidepressant (like desipramine) for the treatment of adhd. Other drugs like strattera also show some advantages. Even within the stimulants, there are other options like Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) or dextroamphetamine, as well as longer-acting preparations such as adderall-xr, vyvanse or concerta.

Alternatives: alternatives include provigil, nuvigil, imipramine, buproprion. All methylphenidate preparations are the same, differ only by delivery system. Clonidine and Tenex (guanfacine) can be helpful when anxiety accompanies ADHD
