Honey: Honey would not be a very ideal wound dressing since it carries a very small risk of containing botulism spores.

Basics of Wound Care: For surgeries, burns, and other "acute" wounds that have no contamination or people with compromised immune systems, sterile dressing changes are the way to go.  For wounds that have been exposed to outside contaminants, or have not healed in a "normal" time/fashion, ("chronic wounds"), arguably, sterile really does not exist as air, dust, etc are not sterile.

Resist: Best not to stick a coat hanger or any other object inside to itch the wound. However the itching may indicate an allergic reaction to the dressing or the topical wound care product that may have been applied to the wound. Would advise you to discuss this with your doctor as soon as you can.

Yes: You can use it to treat an infection. You might put on thin gloves or mittens before you go to sleep, that might help.

Wet to dry: I often teach my patients that they should cover the ulcer with a saline soaked bandage or gauze and then a dry gauze...A concept known as 'wet to dry' so that the dry gauze does not further damage the skin when it is changed.

Hello. : Hello. Don't know the depth of your wound or what your tentanus status is. It sounds like your wound did not heal. I would recommend that it be evaluated. If it is red, hot, tender, has drainage, red streaking, swelling around the area or your have a concomittant fever these would be signs it is infected.

Tetanus shot: Did you get a tetanus booster dose? If not, please do.
You may soak the bandage in Vaseline before applying to the raw area. If the wound has scabbed over, you may leave is uncovered.

blood from infected wound stops when some pressure is applied,but when bandages are removed to be changed (once or twice a day),it drips a lot (8-10 drops at a time).its been so since last night.what to do?why wont the blood clot fast like it should?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. While less common in women, you may have a bleeding disorder.  It would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

4 year got 2nd degree burns on legs. been to the docter. jelonet gause stick to wounds. any other plaster we could use that does not stick to wound that have excessive skin-loss?  we need to soak the jelonet gause off each time we change the bandages

Opsite or tegaderm: these are plastic dressings and they dont stick, They are relatively expensive and depending on how much fluid is being lost from the burn area only have to be changed evey 2-3 days
