Weak hamstrings: Will make the lachmans test measure the TRUE laxity of your acl. The hardest part of the exams getting people to relax their leg and hamstrings to get a good lachmans rest. If they are weak=better test.

Yes: The ACL is one of the main stabilizers of the knee.  If it is " loose" that implies that you have a degree of instability in the knee that may put you at risk for further injury.  I would definitely sit down with an orthopedist for an exam and discussion.  At your young age, you don't want to end up with knee problems that might have been prevented.

Therapy: Physical therapy to strengthen the supporting muscles if the knee as can wearing a brace; if not successful or if you are an active person an ACL reconstruction may be indicated.  Don't hesitate to be seen and evaluated.

Laxity: If your acl reconstruction is stretched you may again be experiencing instability and giving way in your knee.  This is called laxity.  You should have another MRI to assess the integrity of the acl and if torn again you may need surgery again.  Don't forget to do your acl rehab exercises now.

Brace, surgeon: Find your original knee brace dispensed by your surgeon for acl stability and wear it.  Then contact your surgeon and let them know your situation.  Best of luck.

Yes. : Yes.  If after an examination and probable MRI you are indeed diagnosed with an acl tear, surgery is an option.  This will depend on your age, desired activity level, expectations, and other issues.  Nonsurgical options exist as well, and this will/should be discussed by your doctor.

Review with your doc: If you notice any instability particularly with squatting, rotating, or walking down stairs there is a possibility that something happened to your repaired ACL.  This may be particularly the case if your knee is swollen - suggesting some sort of inflammation in the joint.  This is something that your orthopedic surgeon may want to know about.

Check up: You had acl surgery 12 weeks ago.  You now notice the knee feels loose.  It is normal to feel at risk after the surgery.  You might remember the pain and the body is never as good as it was the first time.  You should have a follow up apoitment with your orthopedist. He/she will examine you for flexibility and may repeat the mri to make sure the repair is healing.

14 weeks post acl surgery my doc said my knee feels loose but it nothing to worry about it is he right can i return to sport with a loose knee ?

Loose knee: Before you return to sport please contact the surgeon and check whether or not he thinks it is OK to return to sport.
My sense is that he should see you before you start playing again.
