Many possibilities: Your pain could be as a result of many different things. A thorough history and physical exam and possibly some laboratory and radiology exams are needed to determine the exact cause. Causes of pain may include: trauma (fracture, sprain, arthritis), infection, metabolic conditions (gout), circulatory, musculoskeletal or biomechanical abnormality and neurologic conditions (neuropathy).

Ferritin: Usually anemia, low ferritin specifically.
Dietary change may help.
Stress causes it too.
We recommend stretching, massaging, meditation and diet as I mentioned.

7. Sleep disorders like sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome. 
8. Lack of adequate good sleep.

Night leg  cramps: This could be nocturnal leg cramps. We used to recommend quinine at bedtime to prevent these. The fda now does not allow this on the market for nocturnal leg cramps. It used to work in an excellent manner. I do not support the fda's exclusion your best therapy now is to stretch your legs before bedtime. This can be effective in preventing these leg cramps.

See a Doctor: While this could be something like arthritis, there are several other disease processes that can cause leg pain. If it's both legs, it could mean muscle cramps from salt imbalances or even restless leg problems from anemia.  You need a full physical exam from a physician, who can then decide what further testing, if any, may be necessary.

Insufficient info: Most probably you are experiencing muscle pain in the legs/calves. Need to know your age, any medical problems or medications you take to get a better answer. Better to have a physical and labs to find out the cause.

Feet swelling: Need further testing and an examination. Several things can cause feet swelling, like thyroid, liver, kidney , heart problems. Soreness or burning can be secondary to just swelling or nerve related problems. Please see a physician so an appropriate work up can be done and identify the exact cause.

Restless legs: Get checked to rule out restless legs syndrome. Some predisposing factors to rule out/ eliminate/ modify include taking hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) or some other diuretics, anemia, iron deficiency, hypothyroidism, kidney injury or renal impairment, sleep deprivation, low potassium/ calcium/ magnesium, and impaired circulation in your legs. See a neurologist: migeaineurs often have circulatory problems with cool,hands or feet,due to arterial spasms. This can be painful. Eval is needed to rule out sickle cell disease, low iron,electrolyte abnormalities, peripheral vascular disease. Treatments could be as simple as vascular stabilizers or neuronal stabilizers, but correct diagnosis is needed first. Since simple meds have not worked, see your doctor.

RLS: Restless leg syndrome (RLS) or Periodic Limb Movement Disorder is commoner in females and may be associated with use of caffeine and alcohol, as well as iron deficiency anemia and sleep apnea. Avoid stimulants, check for anemia and sleep apnea  and try supplemental magnesium before consideration of medications. Some antidepressants, dopamine antagonists and lithium may cause it as a side effect.
