If: The pain is in the calf, must have ultrasound to r/o blood clot. If pain in groin, could be osteoarthritis, on the side of the hip, could be trochanteric bursitis. Down buttocks into leg; sciatica, if in the knee; osteoarthritis. Once they evaluate you, they then can choose was best for you regarding pain. Good luck!

do you have any tips for relieving aching  legs during a long plane flight?

Stretches and move: Prevent aching legs and decrease risk of blood clot during long plane flight by doing pre-flight stretches as well as maintenance in-flight stretches every hour in seat (arms and legs) and get up to walk around the cabin when it is safe to do so.  Limit your consumption of caffeine and alcohol, but stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. Take a brisk walk in the airport once you have landed.

See doctor: Without any specific injury to cause the pain it is hard to tell what is going on.  You could have inflammation in the hip, knee or ankle or even a pinched nerve in the back causing these symptoms.  See your doctor or an urgent care for exam and proper treatment.

Aches: aches can have many reason. First: you need to drink 60-80 oz of water per day. You also need to eat healthier with focusing on 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, with drinking 2 cups of milk per day. You need 15 minutes of sun exposure to get enough vitamin D. Take supplements of vitamin D 400 units per day. Excercise 1 hour per day. Try to sleep well minimum 8 hours per day.
