Not a mystery: Hi. You have a urinary tract infection (UTI), probably just a bladder infection, but possibly an upper urinary tract infection (much sicker). : All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that,none of the findings are serious enough, however, depending on other findings and symptoms you may still need a urine culture.

Confusing lab: Looks like the wbc's and rbc's are taken from a urinalysis.   Need more information, but see your doctor for further evaluation.

Interstitial problem: Renal epithelial cells are not normally found in the urine. Their presence reflects inflammation of the interstitial portion of the kidney and can be due to drugs, infections, or other diseases. Renal epithelial cells need to be differentiated from look like sunny side up eggs. Other findings could include blood and white blood cells. I'd recommend that your urine be examined by a nephrologist.

: The epithelial layer is the outermost layer of any tissue. There are epithelial cells lining the inside of the ureters that are exposed to urine passing by as it travels to the bladder, the inside of the bladder, and inside of the outlet. These cells ware out and shed into the urine. By itself it is a normal finding. Please discuss any of your concerns with the doc who ordered the test.

Yes: It's not common. If it does appear, it raises suspicion for a hereditary predisposition (von hippel - lindau, others). There are a few pediatric kidney cancers that mimic common renal cell carcinoma clinically but are distinct pathologic entities.

Varies with stage: Fortunately many renal cell carcinomas are now being diagnosed at an early stage (when the tumor is small and doesn't invade any other structures) thanks to improvements in imaging (ct scan etc). If early stage, many patients do very well after the tumor is removed. However, as the stage of the tumor increases, the risk of the cancer behaving aggressively increases. So stage helps to predict.
