After that the provider may order some blood tests or imagine to specify the diagnosis.

Weeks: Most musculoskeletal pains/strains/sprains can take weeks to fully recover from.  Oblique strains are no joke - they will cause many professional athletes to miss games!  Wraps/binding can help though should be very temporary. It is most important to continue to stabilize the area with core stabilization.  Having help with the little one would definitely help, though!

i have a lump on the right side of my middle abdomen. several drs have felt it and said it is just fatty deposit. it hurts at times as of i pulled or strained the muscle in my side. im diabetic and am concerned it could be more serious. ?

All are right: Docs are right as what they feel as the lump is benign, likely a lipoma, and you are right that probably something else is causing the pain, abdominal muscles not necessarily the lump. What will give you reason to be concerned would be the pain getting worse or any other unexplainable symptoms. Otherwise what would be your reasons for concern?

Needs bladder check: He should see a urologist for urinalysis and also check his bladder to be sure it is emptying. But symptoms like he is describing could also be muscular in nature too

Where is the pain?: Pain in the abdomen can mean many things from constipation (lower left quadrant pain) to appedicitis (lower right quadrant pain) to gallstones (upper right quadrant pain) to stomach ulcers/pancreatitis (upper middle pain) to heart problems (upper left quadrant pain). It is important to discuss with a Dr: how long, how it feels (sharp, stabbing, dull, throbbing) and any other symptoms.

A doctor's exam and possibly a ct scan may make the diagnosis readily and the intervention, if needed, appropriate. An emergency room visit is appropriate.
