Abdominal pain: While it is possible, it would be unusual to have abdominal pain from muscle strain for so long unless you are really doing strenuous exercises. I agree with getting an ultrasound and getting evaluated further.

Bulge: If you have a hernia then in addition to the pain you may also notice a swelling at your belly button (you now have an outie instead of an innie). The other thing is a muscle strain will get better with time and rest. A hernia will stay the same or get worse until it is fixed with surgery.

Medical check up: You need to get a medical examination from your PCP or a surgeon. Any swelling that is persisting is more likely something serious and not simply a sprain.
