Vasculitis and petec:  Anticoagulants do not make a person bleed, but they do slow clotting which may make bleeding more severe when it does occur. The patient was an underlying condition associated with hemorrhage (a stomach ulcer, the recent surgical procedure, other such conditions) will be more likely to experience a problem. Vasculitis and petechiae are not associated with hemorrhage, so this does not apply.

Benefits and risks : Like in any other treatment side effects is a possibility, the benefits of anticoagulation therapy in DVT/PE  outweigh the risks, it is better to treat this disease that could stop the patient heart, even though the Intracerebral hemorrhage its a possibility with the treatment, the serious complication of Pulmonary embolism are more frequent.

Protective .: Hi . Vasculitis has an increased risk for thrombo embolic phenomena.
Hence anti coagulants are prophylactic.

Not true: Any individual who receives an anticoagulant will also carry a risk of bleeding. The presence of vasculitis does not change that.

Yes it can: There are women with a predisposition to blood clotting.  In many cases they have a history of a DVT (such as you).  In most cases, they are on a 'prophylactic' dose of Heparin during subsequent pregnancies.  This dramatically reduces their risk of DVT during pregnancy, but it does not make it a zero risk.  If a woman develops a DVT during pregnancy, they should be placed on 'therapeutic' dosing.

Yes but...: Yes but nothing is perfect. We always have to weigh risk vs benefit. If we are aggressive with anticoagulant  you are unlikely to have clots. If too aggressive you could bleed. So the proper dosing with close monitoring  is required.

Depends: You may not require any monitoring if you do not have any symptoms. Some patients experience weakness for weeks after recovery from the infection. Any tests or monitoring would be dependent on your health status.

There are treatments: if these tests reveal either hyperacidity or esophageal spasm there are numerous treatments that can lead to  relief.  the main reason to do them is so that the appropriate treatment is chosen.  if hyperacidity, a PPI or H2 blocker can be very effective; if spasm, calcium channel blockers are the gold standard.  they are not interchangeable, so ascertaining the cause of your symptoms is important
