im currently 9 weeks pregnant and im feeling a bit light headed, is it normal? on monday i consulted with a doctor regarding headache and congestion and was prescribed medication. the headache has since been gone but now i feel light headed

Pregnancy @ 9 w ?'s: "Light headedness" in pregnancy may have multiple causes, but needs evaluation by an OB qualified physician. Early involvement with an OB physician may prevent eventual problems later in pregnancy.

Ok to use meds: Continue to use saline spray and a humidifier at night can also help.  It is also safe to use over the counter allergy medication such as claritin or allegra during pregnancy

Cold Remedies: Tips: Sore throat – gargle with warm salt water (1/2 tsp salt in 8 oz of water). Get strep test/culture if very sore. Congestion – saline nose drops or neti pot. For anti-inflammatory effect &amp; mobilizing mucus- homemade chicken noodle soup.  Hydrate- lots of water/clear broth/ add honey &amp; a small amt. of lemon juice to Chamomile tea. Fever/ pain – acetaminophen / NSAID’s  Rest!!

my wife is 9 weeks pregnant.  she is suffering from nausea.  doctor prescribed doxinate.  is it the right drug and is it safe at this stage?

Yes: Doxinate (similar to Diclegis in the US) is a safe remedy for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. It's combination of vitamin B6 and doxylamine, a common sleep aid (Unisom). Both are available over-the-counter in the US, but the combination is prescription only. Drowsiness is a common side effect. Conservative measures such as dietary modification are recommended prior to medical treatment, though.

i am pregnant (1st trimester), have not been properly diagnosed. but do have some med training. best i can figure i suffer from an advanced stage (4) of fibro myalgia. i do not wish to take pharmaceutical drugs. how should i be treated?

: Make certain you blood potassium is normal. Patients with this due to primary aldosteronism and low K are often miss- diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Discuss with your Dr. Can also have high blood pressure problems during preg.  Discuss.

6 or 7 weeks: Pregnancy is dated from the last menstrual period.   You ovulated, usually 14 to 20 days after that, so the baby was conceived about 2 or 3 weeks later.  If you know exactly when you ovulated you could estimate a bit more precisely.  Best of luck to you.

May 7, 2014: If you are 9 weeks pregnant, then your estimated date of conception (when you got pregnant) would be May 7th. That would give you a due date of Jan 27, 2015. If you have not already seen your OB provider, you should schedule a visit. Congrats on your pregnancy and best wishes!
