Prob not necessary: Usually the parents have more discomfort than baby. Fewer drugs are better than more drugs. Cold teething rings are safe to use without relying on Tylenol (acetaminophen)

: The infantile gut under age 1 yr has a potential problem with botulism spores (germ seeds) that can be found in raw honey. The spore can establish a germ colony that makes a toxin. We discourage people from offering this in any quantity under age 1 yr. After a year it does not seem to be a problem. Normal cleaning to the point you feel no stickiness is adequate to remove any risk.

8mo vomiting dairy..:  Congratulations on your baby boy! It would be helpful to know what formula your baby is eating.  Some babies have a Milk Protein Allergy vs. Milk/formula intolerance.  Most times the symptoms are very similar.  Some babes have a true allergy and you may see symptoms similar or worse.  Others only have an intolerance and have vomiting or diarrhea only. Please see your Pediatrician for testing.

Other causes include narrowing of the airway(s) or malformations which impinge on the airway. Choking and a foreign body lodged in the airway is another consideration.

? reflux: You don't say in your question where the odor is, but from your further question about teething, I'll assume the odor is from the mouth. At that age the cause is not going to be from poor dental care, as baby wouldn't have teeth yet. This leaves gastroesophageal reflux as the most likely cause.  Talk to your pediatrician about how to diagnose and treat this condition in an infant.
