Saline 'rocks": Saline does not cause problems when it "infiltrates" into the body accidently. The only major issue if any is a sudden "rupture" of the implants from a blow to the chest such as a auto accident air bag or steering wheel. Saline is easily absorbed by the body as opposed to silicone. Talk to a plastic surgeon about these choices before you place all your "rocks"($$) into the "barrel".

Not many: The biggest risk is the need to have them removed/replaced many tears down the road. It is a safe procedure done in competent hands.

i am reading up on getting saline breast implants but i have lupus. have had it many years. not many flares. is it unsafe?

Accepted Answer

Stable: Depends on how stable the lupus is, any lupus internal complications (kidney, etc), blood counts, which meds you are on (especially steroids). May not be unsafe but make sure you really want breast aug. Ideally you are happy, good self-esteem, just want a little help in the chest. Bigger means more male attention but doesn't change the most important part of your sexual persona: your personality.

i just found a spot under my right breast that i can only describe it as feeling like a bulb, filled with air.  what could it be i do have saline breast implants.  the "bulb" is not painful.  when pressed i feel nothing, but when released it feels like it

There : There are several possibilities, but the bottom line is that this absolutely has to be medically evaluated.  Please call your doctor and arrange a medical evaluation.  It is possible that this is related to your implants, but there are other possibilities as well.  That is an abnormal finding and must be evaluated.

Probably obvious: If your saline implant were to rupture it would most likely be very obvious.  The saline would leak fairly rapidly and be quickly absorbed by your body.  So your breasts would rapidly become different in size and shape.  And no it should not cause your period to start.  We give saline to patients all of the time.  It should not affect your hormones.

No unless: it is infected.  If you have no pain, tenderness, or induration of the area, it is not likely that it became infected.  Consult with your plastic surgeon just to be sure.

How about NOW??: How about stopping the weed now, while you're thinking about it?  It makes sense to be as careful with what you put in your chest, as you are with what you put on your chest (the breast implants.)  be well.

i had 650 cc silicone breast implants 6 days ago. the pain seems to get worst everyday it feels like i have 2 hard rocks on top of me is this normal ?
