my 6 yr old son hit his head on the table corner.  he seems fine just a 1cm cut on the side of his head.  does he need stitches? wound is oozing a little bloo.

Maybe/not: If the wound gapes it may need a stitch or 2 but most of that size that don't do not. They generally need to be cleaned &amp; monitored for swelling or drainage that could indicate infection. Most will seal over in a few days &amp; heal without incident.

my 6 yr old son developed about 2 cm round lump on back of his head. it started 3 weeks ago and is growing. feels hard under the normal skin. no pain?

Head lump??: See if he has a symmetrical lump on the other side which you just never noticed before. If not it is most likely that you are feeling a lymph node. Bring it to the attention of his doc and go from there.

Ibuprofen helps: Ibuprofen is a useful med when dealing with headaches in kids. I find it more effective than acetaminophen. Proper hydration and diet also help in kids who have odd feeding pattern.

Call his doctor ASAP: Your son needs an exam so that studies can be arranged. Persistent pain and a point where there is tenderness are worrisome. I would seek help sooner if he has problems with alertness, vision, or balance. Redness, swelling, or warmth at the spot where he is most tender would also be of concern. In the mean time, you can try over the counter pain medicines, oral rehydration, and start a pain diary.

See a dermatologist: One of the causes of a very itchy scalp in a child is tinea capitis (ringworm of the scalp).  If allowed to progress, it can result in hair loss and even an inflammatory process called a kerion.  Please have her evaluated as soon as possible. Meanwhile, it is a contagious process, so please do not allow her to share styling tools or hats with other children.

Likely reaction: This is likely to a makeup/lotion/soap or other agent that was in contact with those areas. If so it should fade within days if you do not re-apply the agent. You can test such agents by applying them to the pad of a band-aid &amp; applying that to clear skin. If it breaks out a day later your skin doesn't like it.

had a sudden breakout (like a sec later) right after using certain facial cleansers(for my acne) twice now. red cluster of small white heads appears on forehead. 2 days later, white heads disappear & surface becomes rough & peels off like dead skin.

So....don't use it: Any person can have an individual intolerance/reaction to chemicals within these products. They may do fine for others but every time you try a new product you should test it. A small amount on the pad of a Bandaid applied to an out of way site can test how you react to it. You may want to read the ingredients to tract down what you cannot tolerate.
