Probably: You baby may not be getting enough to drink. When you have weaned the baby should be getting about 2 ounces per pound. Breast fed poop is loose and mushy, bottle fed poop is more formed. If the baby is constipated, give extra water but make sure there is enough formula going in.

Hard to say: The chances that massage &amp; manipulation would work in a given case depend on features only evident on physical exam. The more flexability, the better the chance. Only a well trained pediatric podiatrist or pediatric orthopedist would be able to predict this and only after an exam.

i have tested positive for covid and have a 6 week old baby. pediatrician says babies do okay with covid and not to worry. will he likely get covid? he has no symptoms currently and i am on day 5 since exposure and day 3 since symptoms began?

: As a guideline, I think day 5 after exposure is pretty key as to whether one develops covid but. I don't have experience with newborns. Stay in touch with the pediatrician if you have any concerns about your baby.

Constipation: Is hard and infrequent stools. You can give a glycerin suppository once and see igf that helps. Baby may be crying if mom is breastfeeding and drinking milk, eating dairy. If using milk based formula then can also cause tummy ache. Baby could be colicky too.. Go see your doctor and discuss this. You will feel better and so will baby!

Not specifically: This is an old myth that is perpetuated year to year. Iron given at therapeutic levels can cause constipation, but studies find no correlation with the level in formula. Infants may process one brand of formula slower or faster than another and any delay in emptying will lead to constipation.

i have a 6 week old baby who started on formula novalac ar1 when she was in hospital. when she got out, i bought her novalac ar digestive. she isnt vomiting it but is experiencing constipation. can i change her back to novalac ar1 in 1 week?

Yes: Both are adequate sources of nutrition. It may or may not change the pattern as infants occasionally vary in pooping patterns. If it is soft when they go I don't consider it constipation.

Constipation: If you are breast feeding , you child may not really be constipated as breast fed babies can go along as a week without a stool. If on formula add a tablespoon of dark karo syrup to the formula to relieve constipation.

? constipation ? : Breast fed babies can go once every week &amp; be normal. Formula babies usually go more often. If they are soft that is okay. If they are making rabbit pellets or harder poop, an ounce of full strength prune juice 1-3X/day spaced out will loosen them within 3 days.
