Depends on what for: 5-HTP doses depend on what it is being used for. If for migraine, it may be a proper dose. However, if for anxiety, depression, or fibromyalgia, the recommended dosage is usually lower, whereas if it’s being used for obesity or sleep disorders, a higher dose may be recommended.

Have not been proven: 5-htp, or 5-hydroxytryptophan, is a dietary supplement. It is a precursor to molecules that regulate mood and sleep. 5-htp is purported to be beneficial in treating depression, though its effects have not been proven in large clinical trials. 5-htp should not be combined with other anti-depressants unless supervised by a physician.

Yes: Where as feverfew need to be avoided with ssris due to effects on platelets, & 5htp need to be avoided with ssris, due to an increased risk of seratonin syndrome, (too much seratonin in the system) there appear to be no interaction between the two.

What for?: Neither of these things is going to solve any of your health issues.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Probably safe but...: There's no research on this but it's probably safe to take these together, in fact I'd expect a synergistic benefit. SAMe appears to increase serotonin levels; 5-HTP does that too so theoretically one might raise serotonin too much, but this is unlikely unless very high doses are taken. I would not start both together but take one for at least 3 weeks, then add the other, starting with low doses.

NO: They accentuate each other. Speak to a physician before starting either one. Exercise may be better.

Yes, but: make sure they don't interact with other prescription / nonprescription medications you might be on. Good that you asked, always exercise caution with multiple medications

i was recently taking 5-htp, 50mg, 2x a day for about 2 weeks. i stopped 3 days ago and wonder if it would be ok to start again on ssri this weekend?

Unknown: There has never been a case of serotonergic syndrome in humans reported with combined use. Mice are not so lucky
Unfortunately a formal study has not been undertaken in humans. I'd wait another week just to be on the safe side.
